How to Check in at Blazer Beginnings Orientation
2024 Orientation On Campus Check-In Information
- Bring photo identification with you to your orientation session. This is required to verify student identity at check-in and to obtain your VSU 1Card. Acceptable forms of photo ID: Driver's License, Military ID, Passport, and High School ID (must include your photo).
- Student and guest(s) are requested to check-in together to receive nametag(s), program guide, and other materials for the day.
- Detailed driving and parking instructions are sent via email and text prior to your session; campus signs will also be located around our campus. Driving and parking instructions can be accessed to Google Assistant, Waze, GPS, or most mobile apps that syncs with your Apple or Android products. Parking is available in the Oak Street Parking Deck.
- Your MyMajors Assessment & Pre-Orientation Survey is required and should be completed and submitted at least one week prior to your scheduled session.
- Each on-campus session is a full day of programming for both the student and guest(s). The day will require some outdoor walking, please prepare accordingly.
- If a member of your party requires a special accommodation, please email orientation@valdosta.edu to make arrangements prior to your session. Our dining hall offers vegan meals without a special request.
- If circumstances arise that cause you to arrive after specified check-in time, please call or text: 229.333.7570 to alert the staff.
The orientation office will send a REMINDER email and text 1-2 days prior to each scheduled on-campus orientation date. A text with driving/parking instructions will be sent the morning of each session.
