Microsoft Bookings
Simplify Scheduling with Bookings
How to access Bookings
- Login in to Microsoft 365 with your MyVSU email and password.
- Click the App Launcher icon (9 squares in the upper left corner).
- Click Bookings.
As a component of Microsoft 365, Bookings is a scheduling tool that includes a web-based booking calendar that integrates with Outlook to provide real-time availability. End-users can easily view calendars, schedule in-person or Microsoft Teams virtual appointments, and receive email reminders and notifications. With built-in flexibility and customization, Bookings can be designed to fit the needs of individuals and varied departments, divisions, and colleges.
There are two types of Bookings pages/calendars: Bookings with Me and simply Bookings (for organization).
- Online appointment booking
- Real-time appointment availability
- Outlook calendar integration including automatic updates
- Automated email confirmations and reminders
- Appointment rescheduling and cancellations
- Integration with Microsoft Teams
- 120 days of appointment history (60 days past, 60 days future)
- Unique appointment scheduling web page
- Appointment reassignment between staff members
Bookings is an ideal solution for scheduling meetings or sessions with those inside and outside of Blazer Nation. Below are a few examples of how you can use Bookings:
- Set up office hours
- Set up mentoring or advising hours
- Exam sign-up
- 1:1 meetings with direct reports
- Schedule interviews with candidates
- Book onboarding appointments
- Book trainings, seminars, or conferences
- Set up public or campus-wide event reservations
- Lunch and coffee breaks
And . . .
Microsoft Bookings with me is a web-based personal/individual scheduling page.
People can book 1:1 appointments or meetings with you through your personal scheduling page that integrates with the free/busy information from your Outlook web calendar. You can create custom meeting types to share with others so they can easily schedule time with you based on your availability and preferences. You both get an email confirmation and attendees can update or cancel scheduled meetings with you from your Bookings with me page.
Microsoft Bookings is intended for use by departments, divisions, and colleges of the Valdosta State University organization.
It works similarily to Bookings with me; however, Bookings is more about managing the scheduling for a team of staff (though people can still book a meeting through it). With Bookings, a shared calender and mailbox is created.
Bookings pages are created by request through VSU Information Technology.
