VSU Invites Community to Have Some Summer Fun on Campus
VALDOSTA — Valdosta State University is excited to announce a summer calendar filled with family friendly activities for residents of Valdosta-Lowndes County and beyond. This includes Broadway-caliber musical theatre; outdoor walking trails; art exhibits; museum tours; enrichment, recreation, and athletic camps; and more.
JUNE 2023
Get Active: Valdosta State University offers a Walking Trail System that encourages all ages to go outside and get moving. Main Campus is home to a 1.35-mile Fitness Route and a Scenic Route, which offer opportunities to learn more about the university’s history, outdoor art collection, urban forest, and more. A 0.45-mile trail may be found on North Campus across from South Georgia Medical Center. Visit www.valdosta.edu/walkingtrail to learn more.
Art in Odum: Valdosta State University’s Art in Odum initiative offers a permanent collection that features hundreds of works covering a wide variety of media, aesthetic outlooks, and visual expression, as well as several centuries of creative expression. African American History: The Copeland African American Museum at Valdosta State University is a destination for anyone seeking inspiration, knowledge, a change of perspective, and food for conversation. Visitors of all ages are encouraged to visit the museum and spend some time examining, exploring, and analyzing the innovative, creative, and intelligent contributions of African Americans throughout history.
