VSU Honors Lindsay Miller with Outstanding Student in the College of the Arts Award
Lindsay Nicole Miller of Chipley, Florida, is the recipient of the 2022 Outstanding Student in the Arts Award at Valdosta State University. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance (oboe) and a Bachelor of Arts in Music (voice) during VSU’s 233rd Commencement on May 7. She plans to continue her education and pursue a Master of Music in Performance at VSU, where she will also serve as a music theory graduate teaching assistant. She is pictured with A. VALDOSTA — Lindsay Nicole Miller of Chipley, Florida, is the recipient of the 2022 Outstanding Student in the Arts Award at Valdosta State University.
The Outstanding Student in the Arts Award is presented to a College of Arts student with a record of academic excellence and distinguished service inside and outside of the classroom.
As an undergraduate student at VSU, Miller performed with the Wind Ensemble, Chamber Singers, and Valdosta Symphony Orchestra, where she served as second and principal oboe player. She presented her research on music theory at the 2021 VSU Undergraduate Research Symposium, 2021 Georgia Undergraduate Research Conference, and 2022 National Conference for Undergraduate Research.
Miller graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance (oboe) and a Bachelor of Arts in Music (voice) during VSU’s 233rd Commencement on May 7. She plans to continue her education and pursue a Master of Music in Performance at VSU, where she will also serve as a music theory graduate teaching assistant.
“I feel incredibly honored to be receiving the Outstanding Student in the College of the Arts Award,” she said. “I hope to continue to bring a high level of artistry and academic achievement to VSU’s College of the Arts.”
Miller’s commitment to academic, creative, and research excellence resulted in her earning repeated Dean’s List honors, the Music Alliance Scholarship, the Michaelas Fund Scholarship, and the Ingram Music Scholarship.
Her supportive family includes Letetia Gibson and Goss Williams.
