VSU to Present Sexual Assault Prevention Program Oct. 25

VALDOSTA – Valdosta State University’s Counseling Center, in collaboration with Housing and Residence Life, will present "Sex Signals" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, in Jennett Lecture Hall. Admission is free of charge and open to all VSU students, faculty, and staff.

"Sex Signals" has become one of the most popular sexual assault prevention programs on college campuses through its unorthodox, humor-facilitated approach to examining today’s culture, sex, and the core issue of bystander intervention.

Produced by Catharsis Productions, an education company from Chicago, Ill., “Sex Signals” has been presented more than 3,500 times at various colleges and universities around the world. The company is committed to changing the world by “producing innovative, accessible, research-supported programming that challenges oppressive attitude and shifts behavior.”

“We are excited to be bringing this innovative program to Valdosta State University as an entertaining and interactive way to teach the students about healthy relationships, communication, and appropriate dialogue of consent for intimacy,” said Dr. Tricia Hale, Counseling Center director.
