VSU’s Jamie Tanner Presents Free Social Media Webinar

VALDOSTA — Valdosta State University’s Jamie Tanner will present a free webinar, “Social Media … So What?” for human resources professionals from 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22. College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) will host the webinar and Cornerstone OnDemand will sponsor it.

 “Whether it's Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Pinterest or others, the number of social media tools available to HR professionals for recruitment, branding, employee communication, organizational development, and more is seemingly endless,” said Tanner, who serves as employee relations manager at VSU. “Through real-world scenarios, participants will discover how social media can be used in HR.” 

“Social Media … So What?” was inspired by “The Great Frontier: Expansion of Social Media Into the Higher Ed Workplace,” a webinar Tanner presented a year ago that focused on teaching human resources professionals the best practices in using social media in a college and university setting.

Tanner has been actively involved with CUPA-HR for 10 years and has presented on various human resources-related topics at state, regional, and national conferences. He has held several leadership positions with the Georgia chapter of the organization and is now chairman of its Southern Region Board of Directors.
