Career Opportunities to Host Spring Career Expo March 24
VALDOSTA – The Office of Career Opportunities at Valdosta State University will host the 2016 Spring Career Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, in the University Center Magnolia and Cypress Rooms.
Current students and alumni planning to attend should dress professionally, arrive early, and bring several copies of their resume. All attendees will have an opportunity to win one of two grand prizes of $100 each.
“The Spring Career Expo is a great opportunity for all students and alumni of Valdosta State University to establish or maintain relationships with employers,” said Delois Hargett, employer relations coordinator with Career Opportunities. “We wish to do an exemplary job for both students and alumni and simply want to help both ignite their journey with Career Opportunities.”
More than 50 employers representing government, health care, insurance, retail, and wholesale business career fields and offering everything from full-time employment to internships are scheduled to attend. Target Corporation has already made plans to return to campus on Thursday, March 31, to conduct interviews with interested students and alumni. Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes will conduct on-campus interviews on Tuesday, April 5. Geico will do the same on Wednesday, April 6.
“Students and alumni are encouraged to visit with these representatives at the Spring Career Expo and schedule an interview time,” Hargett said.
Graduate school representatives will also be on hand for those students and alumni who wish to learn more about furthering their education.
