High School Students are invited to visit VSU during spring break
VALDOSTA – Valdosta State University invites high school juniors and seniors to visit the campus as part of their spring break.
“In Georgia, many high schools will have spring break the first part of April,” said Ryan Hogan, associate director of admissions. “If prospective students are headed to the beach or on vacation, we want them to stop and take a tour of the campus and see all that VSU has to offer.”
The “Take Your Break with V-State” week starts with visitation day on Saturday, April 5, beginning at 10 a.m., in the PE Complex (401 Baytree Road). Students, parents, teachers, and counselors are invited to attend. The day’s activities include welcoming speeches from administrators and Student Government Association representatives, followed by the opportunity to meet with representatives from diverse academic majors, as well as student organizations (Greek, athletics, etc.).
Following the campus tour, visitors will be guests of VSU for lunch in Palms Dining Hall. All activities will conclude at approximately 12:30 p.m.
The week of April 7-10, campus tours will be offered every hour starting at 9 a.m., with the last tour of the day at 3 p.m. On Friday the last tour begins at noon.
“No reservations are required for the tours,” said Hogan. “Students and their families just need to stop by the Office of Admissions and join the next tour.”
Each tour consists of a general overview of the campus, including residence halls (suite and traditional style), classrooms, Student Recreation Center, and on-campus dining facilities.
VSU’s admissions counselors and staff will answer questions and provide information on admissions requirements, scholarship opportunities, and financial aid.
