VSU Hosts Spring Education Career Day Thursday, Feb. 27
VALDOSTA – Valdosta State University’s Office of Career Opportunities will host its Spring Education Career Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27 in the University Center. Anyone interested in working in a school system may attend.
School systems will meet with students from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and host interviews between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. for prospective employees. Some school systems will not conduct interviews.
“We are excited to have 41 schools from throughout Georgia and Florida attend this education career day,” said Dr. Gerald Williams, director of Career Opportunities. “At last year’s career day, we had several students offered interviews that day, and many of those interviews led to jobs. These schools are coming looking for education majors to offer them jobs.”
Participating school systems will be available beginning Feb. 20 on the Career Opportunities website.
Participants should dress professionally, arrive at 10 a.m. for maximum exposure and bring several resume copies.
Prizes will be given to the first 100 attendees and all participants are encouraged to enter for a chance to win one of two grand prizes of $100 each.
