VALDOSTA - The Valdosta State University Center for Continuing Education is accepting registrations for Camp Discovery 2008 at the Continuing Education office on North Patterson Street.

The day camp program offers classes for kids ages five and older on a variety of topics to strengthen academic, artistic and physical skills. Most run from 9 a.m. until noon, with a few afternoon options, and new classes are available each week. This year’s themes include "Movie Making Magic," during which participants will script, cast, film and edit their own five-minute movies; "Sports Fun for Everyone," which will be taught by VSU football team captain Davis Russell; "Junior Lego Vehicles;" "Jewelry Making;" "Challenge Camp;" "Who Let the Bugs Out;" "Horsemanship 101;" "Pirates Ahoy;" and " American Folk Art," as well as tennis, hip-hop dance, origami, video game making, international cooking, drama, painting, sign language and much more.

Costs vary for each camp, and children of VSU faculty and staff receive a $5 discount. For complete descriptions, fees, registration forms and other information, please visit the “Kids' Stuff” section at www.valdosta.edu/conted or call Continuing Education at 245-6484.
