2006 International Education Week Celebration scheduled for VSUNovember 13-17
Valdosta State University is gearing up to participate in
International Education Week activities November 13-17. The special
week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the
U.S. Department of Education to recognize the global exchange
environment between the United States and other countries.
International Education Week is an annual event that helps to
promote programs that prepare American students for the global
environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn
and exchange experiences in the United States.
VSU’s Society for International Students (SIS) and the Center for
International Programs (CIP) have planned events throughout the
week to highlight this worldwide celebration of the benefits of
international education and exchange. VSU students from all over
the world will share their language, culture, food, and customs
through lectures, country displays, dances, and much more during
this special week. Most events are free and open to all VSU
students, faculty and staff and the Valdosta community. There is a
fee for the Sushi Cooking class ($8/adults). Space is limited. For
reservations call the Center for International Programs at 333-7410
by noon on Monday, November 13.
For more information about the International Education Week please
