VSU Continuing Education offers Video Editing Classes
Valdosta State University's Continuing Education department will
begin offering the public the opportunity to learn to create better
videos for home or professional use through the new Introduction to
Video Editing course.
Courses will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursdays,
October 19 to November 2. The course fee is $59 which will increase
to $69 after October 16. The class size will be small to
accommodate the needs and interests of individual students. After
completion of the course participants will receive a certificate
documenting Continuing Education Units.
The course will be taught using Adobe Premiere Elements software.
Individuals will learn how to capture video into a computer from
any camcorder or VCR, edit video, add titles and graphics, edit
audio, add music and sound effects, and put an edited program on a
tape or a DVD.
Video editing allows editors to re-arrange, modify, and make
additions to recorded video segments to create a better production.
Computer-based editing software makes this capability available to
both professionals and home video users.
The class is taught by Bill Muntz, Director of Public Services at
Valdosta State University. Muntz has thirty-seven years of active
experience in personal and professional video production including
instructional programs, informational programs, spots, lectures,
panels, demonstrations, talk shows, music programs, sports,
documentary, and stage shows.
Courses offered by VSU Continuing Education include a variety of
computer classes, Introduction to Voice Editing, Fly Fishing,
Southern Style, as well as over 200 online classes.
