VSU summer commencement ceremony set for July 29
Valdosta State University will hold its summer 2006 commencement
ceremony on Saturday, July 29, at 10 a.m., in the P.E. Complex on
Baytree Road for the 500 students who have applied for
graduation.
VSU is celebrating the centennial anniversary of its founding in
1906, when legislation passed by the Georgia General Assembly
created the college. On January 2, 1913, the South Georgia State
Normal College opened for classes. In recognition of its rich
history, VSU is commemorating these centennial years from 2006 to
2013 with a wide variety of activities to honor VSU's proud past,
present and future. Graduating students will receive specially
designed centennial diplomas as a memento of the historical and
significant benchmark in the life of the regional university.
Guests in need of an accessible entrance should use the west
entrance of the Physical Education Complex which is on the Sustella
Avenue side of the building. Parking for the accessible entrance is
