DeRosso Receives Beta Gamma Sigma Scholarship
Anthony J. DeRosso has been selected for his superior academic
performance in the study of business to receive a $1,000
scholarship from the international honor society Beta Gamma Sigma
to continue his education in 2006-07. DeRosso, of Moultrie, Ga., is
a student in the Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business
Administration.
Since 1988, the society and its member deans have awarded nearly
$900,000 in scholarships to outstanding student members from across
the country. The society is proud that its contributions have
helped "the best in business" reach their academic and professional
goals.
The mission of Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and honor academic
achievement in the study of business and to foster personal and
professional excellence among its members. Membership in the
society is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in
the world can receive in an undergraduate or master's program at a
school accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools
of Business, International.
To be eligible for membership, the academic ranking of those being
considered must place them in the upper 7 percent of the junior
class, upper 10 percent of the senior class, or upper 20 percent of
the graduating master's class. While almost 300,000 students
receive bachelor's or master's degrees in business each year, only
about 20,000 of them are elected to membership in Beta Gamma
Sigma.
