VSU's first annual Best Practices in Teaching Seminar
Valdosta State University's Harley Langdale Jr. College of
Business Administration (COBA) will host the first annual Best
Practices in Teaching Seminar, on Friday, February 24, 2006, from
2:30 to 4:30 p.m., in Pound Hall Room 202 on the Rea & Lillian
Steele North Campus. A reception will follow.
The seminar's theme is "Understanding and Serving Students' Needs"
and will consist of seven presentations taught by COBA faculty: (1)
"Business Ethics Across the Curriculum � a Customizable Plan," by
Dr. Donna Cunningham, (2) "SOX . . . It's Not Just Something You
Wear . . . Its Something You Teach," by Dr. Ray Elson, (3)
"Introduction to Merlot," by Ms. Jennifer Gill, (4) "Effective
Group Management for Class Projects," by Drs. Tim Reisenwitz and
Jacqueline Eastman, (5) "Using Feedback As Part Of A Continuous
Communication Loop To Enhance Student Learning," by Drs. Sanjay
Gupta and Ray Elson, (6) "Automating Students' Records by Using
Class Action TM - An Easy Way to Keep Up and Keep Students
Updated!" by Mr. Carl Blenke, and (7) "Utilizing Multiple
Intelligences in the Classroom" by Dr. Jim Muncy.
The presentation is open to the public, but guests are encouraged
to RSVP by February 16. This event, taking place during VSU's
centennial year, is sponsored by Mr. Bart Greer of Southeastern
