Visitation Day Saturday Nov. 11
Valdosta State University will host Visitation Day, Saturday, Nov.
11 from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. High school juniors and seniors,
transfer students, parents, teachers and counselors are invited to
attend this event to learn more about VSU and its admission
procedures.
Representatives from the Admissions Office, Student Government
Association, Greek Life and all academic departments will be
available to answer questions and provide information to potential
students and their families, beginning at 10 a.m. in the P.E.
Complex.
Campus tours will be available and lunch will be provided to all
visitors in the Palms Dining Center.

Alumni support Blazers in final game of the season
All VSU alumni are invited to C.J.'s Pub and Pool, 1201 Baytree
Road, on Saturday Nov. 11, to watch the Blazers take on West
Georgia College. The game begins at 7 p.m. and will be televised
locally on AT&T Broadband Cable channel 19. The VSU Alumni
Association will provide free appetizers to the first 75 alumni who
attend this event.
VSU to hold Senior Art Exhibit Nov. 12-Dec. 6
The Valdosta State University Art Department will sponsor a Senior
Art Exhibit, Nov. 12-Dec. 6 in the VSU Art Gallery (Fine Arts
Building). An opening reception will be held Nov. 12 from 2-4 p.m.
The public is invited to attend.
This event will display the works of VSU's senior art majors and
allows visitors the opportunity to see all works displayed in one
exhibition.
This year's exhibition will include a variety of media including
paintings, drawings, ceramics, graphics, animation, sculpture,
jewelry, printmaking and photography.
Students exhibiting are Shannon Brookerd, Christa Bryan, Tim Duke,
Preston Hart, Luci Haynes, Elizabeth Heden, Joey Howard, Minori
Ishibashi, John Milan, Sharron O'Brien, Amanda Paulk, Michelina
Panetti, Lauren Roberts, Keith Varni, Jennifer Wysowski and Rick
Yentzer.
The Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 10
a.m.-3 p.m. on Friday. Admission is free. For more information,

Valdosta State University celebrates international education
The week of Nov. 13-17, has been declared International Education
Week, by President Bill Clinton. In response to this national
recognition Valdosta State University's Office of International
Programs has various events scheduled to highlight international
education on campus and in the Valdosta community.
Dr. Hugh C. Bailey, VSU president, will kickoff the week by signing
a proclamation designating this week as International Education
Week at VSU, on Nov. 14 at 3:30 p.m. in the University Center
Theater. Following the signing of the proclamation, Rusty Griffin,
president and CEO of Griffin LLC, will give the keynote address
focusing on the importance of international education to the people
of South Georgia.
The following events have been scheduled:
* An essay contest: Students are encouraged to submit an essay
about an international experience they have had. The winner will
receive $50.
* A variety of international meals will be served in the Palms
Dining Center throughout the week.
* "Lawrence of Arabia" will be the international movie, Nov. 14,
6:30 p.m., University Center Theater.
