How did majoring in English prepare you for your career?

My bachelor's and master's degrees in English from VSU prepared me to teach writing at the college level and allowed me to fit easily into teaching high school students literature and composition as well.

What advice or insight do you have for VSU alumni and students interested in your career field?

My best advice would be to form relationships with professors and with classmates because building relationships is often more important than focusing only on academic pursuits.
