Prospective Students
Admission to the nursing programs is a separate process from admission to Valdosta State University. Undergraduate students who declare Nursing as their major are advised and supported by academic advisors in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CONHS) Advising Center. All undergraduate students are supported by the center while juniors and seniors are also mentored by School of Nursing full-time faculty.
Traditional BSN students (those who are pre-licensure and first bachelor’s degree seeking) are admitted in the fall and spring semesters. The traditional BSN program is designed to be completed in four years; two years of liberal arts core courses and two years of nursing major courses.
Accelerated BSN students (those who are pre-licensure and already have a bachelor’s degree in some other field) are admitted in the summer semester. The accelerated BSN program is designed to be completed in 14 months (4 semesters continuously throughout the year), once all core course requirements are met.
