Mission & Vision

The Office of Student Conduct & Title IX plays a vital role in student growth and retention by setting campus safety standards that assist individuals with aligning their actions with the values outlined in the Blazer Creed. Through educational programming and in-depth learning experiences, the office challenges students to engage in critical thinking and utilize informed decision-making skills.

The vision of our office is to provide individuals with tools that enhance personal development, fosters accountability, and leads to long-term success.

Our vision is consistent with the mission and goals of the University System of Georgia (USG), the Institution (VSU), and the standards of the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS).

Goals of Our Office

Increase awareness of programs and processes for all campus constituents.

Interpret, disseminate, and promote university (and where applicable, state and federal) regulations and standards to students, faculty, staff, parents, and the university community, in an effort to ensure compliance with our code of conduct.

Serve as a resource for students, faculty, staff, parents, and the university community concerning student rights as outlined in the code of conduct and through Title IX.

Facilitate, with dignity, the resolution of concerns and disputes at the lowest level possible.

Provide guidance and education on the value of both academic and sexual integrity, while also nurturing students’ (and employees') intellectual, social, physical, and mental wellbeing.
