IT Project Management Office
Our Mission
The mission of the Information Technology (IT) Project Management Office (PMO) is to provide a division-wide approach to identify, prioritize, and successfully execute a technology portfolio of initiatives and projects that are aligned with the university’s strategic goals and vision that encourages collaboration, standardization, and overall improvement of the academic community. The office’s primary responsibility is to ensure project plans are implemented on schedule, within scope, and on budget. The goal of the IT PMO is to transform the culture of the IT division by maturing the project management organizational level to one of Strategic Execution Excellence.
Our Goal
In pursuit of the above goal, the IT PMO works collaboratively with departments across campus in achieving their objectives in alignment with university strategic goals. Project teams facilitate the changes necessary in operational activities and as part of the standardization of organizational policies solicit two-way communication with stakeholders for the entirety of the project process. A main benefit to the VSU community includes improved information technology services and networking infrastructure in the virtual and physical classroom as well as construction projects for new and renovated buildings. Project managers review and evaluate how outcomes meet the objectives and purpose of the project. The IT PMO relies on the trust and dependability it demonstrates through standardized and consistent methodology in the delivery of its services to sustain a long-term mutual partnership with the VSU community.
