2. How do I add money to my FLEX account with a debit/credit card?
If you are a student:
- Access the Online Card Office
- Enter the amount to deposit ($15 minimum)
- Enter the payment information (site does not accept American Express)
- Confirm the transaction
- You will receive an email confirmation that the deposit has been made
If you are a parent or relative:
- Your student must grant "guest access" for you to utilize the Online Card Office.

3. Is there any other way to add money to my FLEX account?
- If you must pay by cash or check, you are required to make a deposit with the VSU Bursary cashier before visiting the 1Card office.
- Cash (bills only/$1.00 minimum) can be loaded into FLEX accounts at the kiosks located in the Student Union and Odum Library.
4. How much does a new 1Card cost?
- First VSU 1Card is free
- All replacements are $20 (must provide two forms of ID to obtain a card)
5. What forms of payment do we accept in the office?
- FLEX (no debit/credit)
6. What do I need to have with me to purchase a new 1Card?
- Two (2) forms of identification (one must be a government-issued photo ID and the other must have your name pre-printed on it)
- $20 in FLEX account (deposited in the Online Card Office or one of the kiosks located in the Student Union and Odum Library)
7. How can I check my balance and see the transactions on my 1Card?
- Log in to the Online Card Office on the 1Card website
- Balance is at bottom of receipt after each transaction is made
- It is the cardholder's responsibility to monitor/review transactions made via the VSU 1Card
8. How can I get the remaining balance refunded back to me?
- Students must have at least $25 in the FLEX account in order to receive a refund
- One (1) refund allowed per semester
- Complete and submit the Flex Refund Request Form on the 1Card website
- The FLEX refund process begins no earlier than eleven (11) business days after the first day of classes each semester
- Refund is processed by the VSU Bursary in whatever form student has set up with them to receive refunds (check or direct deposit)
9. Do my FLEX funds remain in my account all year?
- FLEX funds remain in the account from summer-to-fall and fall-to-spring semesters; funds do not roll over from spring-to-summer semester
- Before the end of spring semester, cardholders must complete the FLEX Roll-over Form on the 1Card website if they wish to keep the balance in the FLEX account
- All FLEX account balances over $24.99 will be automatically refunded to your VSU Banner account at the end of each spring semester unless you designate otherwise via the FLEX Roll-Over Form on the VSU 1Card Services website; the deadline to submit a roll-over form is seven (7) business days before the official spring semester graduation date
10. Who can use my VSU 1Card?
- The VSU 1Card is the property of Valdosta State University and is to be used only by the person to whom it is issued (non-transferable); the card will be confiscated and all privileges suspended if presented for use by anyone other than the cardholder
- *Cards confiscated by VSU employees or contractors (for any reason) should be returned to VSU 1Card Services via inter-campus mail. Please complete the “Confiscated Card Form” and send a copy with the card to 1Card Services (http://www.valdosta.edu/administration/finance-admin/auxiliaryservices/1-card-services/forms/confiscatedid.php).
