The Division of Academic Affairs at Valdosta State University (VSU) is dedicated to academic success.  In addition to ensuring the integrity of VSU's degree programs, the division promotes the academic mission of the university through administering an array of high quality undergraduate and graduate programs. As well as our regional accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) for degrees through the doctoral level, we have numerous specialized accreditation for where such designations are available.

VSU is proud of its faculty of nearly 500 members, composed of talented, highly qualified teacher-scholars,dedicated to helping our students become life-long learners. Whether in the classroom, the laboratory, the studio, out in the field, or in their offices, our faculty members strive to provide challenging and innovative instruction.  At the same time, our faculty members are active in their professions, engaging in research, producing scholarly and creative works, and participating in numerous professional and community organizations.

Our students may choose from a diverse range of educational options, taking classes in a traditional classroom or completely or partially online. Many of our students choose to spend a summer, a semester, or even a full year studying abroad and many participate in an internship or engage in service-learning experience.

The Office for Academic Affairs is dedicated to helping our students and faculty members achieve their academic and professional goals. Together with the academic deans, directors, and department heads, the office of Academic Affairs administers existing academic programs, revises and reviews those programs, and develops new ones. The Office also oversees academic policies, procedures, and standards.

VSU is a growing and vibrant institution, where academics are at the heart of our mission. We are here to foster student success and we are proud to do so, one student at a time.

Sincerely,

Dr. Sheri Noviello
Interim Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs
