S.A.V.E. Hosts Renewable Energy Conference

VALDOSTA - Students Against Violating the Environment, a student group at Valdosta State University, will host the Southeast Student Renewable Energy Conference Friday through Sunday, Feb. 8-10, on the university campus.

The three-day event is a collaborative effort to bring together high school and college students, as well as faculty and staff members, from across the Southeastern United States who are interested in environmental issues. Intense workshops, inspiring speaker and panel discussions will provide information and tools for promoting energy efficiency on high school and college campuses. The conference will cover a variety of topics, such as energy conservation, climate change and environmental justice, giving students the opportunity to engage experts in discussions and to network with students who are working under the same agenda.

Through hosting the conference, S.A.V.E. will do its part to continue the development of the Youth Climate Movement in the southeast and train the next generation of leaders to meet the challenge of creating sustainable energy sources for the future.
