The Boys' Choir of Tallahassee performs at VSU

Valdosta State University's African-American Studies will conclude its tenth annual lecture series with a performance by the Boys' Choir of Tallahassee, on Saturday, February 25, 2006, at 5 p.m., in Whitehead Auditorium.

The choir features 100 young African-American men who have enriched their academic pursuits through singing. Since 1995, graduating senior members have received academic scholarships and enrolled in college.

Dr. Earle Lee, Director of the Boys' Choir of Tallahassee, will conduct a pre-concert workshop in Whitehead Auditorium, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., for groups interested in forming a boys' choir in Valdosta. Registration for the pre-concert workshop is required; however, no registration is necessary for the concert later in the day.

The lecture series, taking place during VSU's centennial year, is free and open to the public. For more information or to register for the pre-concert workshop, please contact Dr. Shirley Hardin, director of African-American Studies, at 249-4843.
