Heidi Cox, CPA, CIA, CGMA

Heidi Cox is the Director of Internal Audit at Valdosta State University. Her experience includes over twenty years as a public and private accountant, financial advisor, including external auditing and nine years of internal auditing within the University System of Georgia.

In May 2008, she joined Valdosta State University Internal Audit Department as a senior auditor and was transferred to Albany State University as Director of Internal Audit in November 2011. She returned to her Alma Mater in February 2016 as Director of Internal Audit. Heidi earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Valdosta State University and is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and Chartered Global Management Accountant.  Her professional memberships include the Institute for Internal Auditors (IIA), the Association of College and University Auditors (ACUA), the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA), and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Currently, she serves on the Board of Governors for the IIA - Tallahassee Chapter and past President for the GSCPA - Valdosta Chapter.
