Bioblitz

We are doing it again! Valdosta State University will host Lowndes County's second BioBlitz at Grassy Pond Recreational Area, April 12-13, 2019.

What is a BioBlitz?

A BioBlitz is a gathering of scientists, naturalists, hobbyists, and public participants (young and old), all working together to discover and identify as many species as possible in a specific location during a specific time period, usually 24 hours.

In addition to generating useful data for science, BioBlitzes also give people an opportunity to explore nature with an expert guide, meet new people, and connect to the environment.

How to get involved

Most of the species collections and kid-friendly activities will occur on Saturday. Click on the Activities link for a detailed schedule of events.
