NMC Access Policy: 

The New Media Center is a department run by student tech fee fund support and must focus towards the needs of current VSU patron success. To be eligible to utilize the services in the New Media Center, a patron must be a current student, staff or faculty member with VSU.

Equipment Late Fee & Return Policy: 

To be eligible to check out equipment a patron must:

  • Be a current student, faculty member, or staff member
  • Present a current Valdosta State University ID, Drivers License or State ID
  • Have an academic need for the equipment
  • No late fees accumulated

Falsifying your identity will result in immediate termination of your ability to checkout equipment.

The New Media Center adheres to the copyright policy set forth by Valdosta State University. Specifically,Valdosta State University recognizes the importance of the Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) and prohibits copying or use of copyrighted material not specifically permitted or exempted by law.

Streaming Copyright Videos for a Class (Faculty Only):

VSU adheres to the copyright policy set for the by the University System of Georgia and TEACH guidelines. You may request the Odum Library New Media Center to stream your video clips for access behind BlazeVIEW D2L. All copyrighted videos to be streamed must follow the criterion stated in the Blazeview Video Streaming Policy listed in the link below?

Project Request Policy:

The NMC offers students, staff and faculty a great resource to do low-volume print related jobs. Our objective is to meet the academic needs of our students. Since we are a student tech-fee funded entity we must be sure to adhere to strict policies shown on our Project Request page.

Room Reservation Policy:

Students, staff, and faculty are allowed use of up to 2 hours at a time for our various rooms available for checkout. To ensure that our rooms and room equipment stay in good condition and that our facility is not overwhelmed with loud noise bleed from the available rooms, we have established a set of room reservation policies.
