VSU AMA Welcomes Charlene Shirk to Campus Oct. 5

VALDOSTA — In celebration of American Marketing Association Marketing Week, Valdosta State University’s chapter of the AMA will host Charlene Shirk of Jacksonville, Fla., at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, in the Health Sciences and Business Administration Building, Room 1121.

Faculty, staff, students, retirees, alumni, and friends of the university are welcome to attend.  

Emmy-nominated Shirk is the founder and creative director of C. Shirk Productions and Charlene Shirk Public Relations and a moderator on The Chat, a live talk show on Jacksonville’s First Coast News. She has 15 years of experience in broadcast journalism and community relations and previously served as director of Community Relations for The Players Championship on the PGA Tour.

AMA Marketing Week is Oct. 3-7. It is an opportunity for collegiate chapters to showcase the variety and depth of marketing, careers in marketing, and the benefits of belonging to the organization.

The AMA is committed to being “the most relevant force and voice shaping marketing around the world,” as well as “an essential community for marketers.” Its more than 30,000 members work, teach, and study in the field of marketing around the world.
